ECAS Utilities- Solving Complex Problems with Sustainable Solutions by Driving Customers Behaviours

ECAS is an innovative research-based consultancy, operating in the United Kingdom, Ireland and other European markets, we are passionate about using scientific and engineering skills to develop robust and sustainable solutions to our clients’ problems. We work in the water, waste and environment sectors and contribute to the protection, enhancement and maintenance of the natural environment.

ECAS works with Municipalities, Water Companies and Local Authorities worldwide to design build and manage discharge licensing programmes to control Industrial, Fats Oils and Grease (FOG) and food waste discharges. As a company we specialise in providing practical solutions to control all forms of diffused pollution from the Industrial, Commercial and Agricultural sectors. Service provided to Water Utilities are provided around three key objectives.

Objective 1: To develop and embed a proactive, strategic, educational FOG and Misuse programme.

How we do it:

  • Support the review of all planned and preventative work streams, redefining a collaborative management focus.
  • Support the linking of ALL programme outputs to develop catchment focused approach to long term strategy.
  • Track and measure success

Objective 2: To continue to provide expert advice and support in FOG and food Waste Management

How we do it:

  • Reproach pollutions and sewer flooding incidents caused by unsuitable material being flushed into the sewer network and determine food service establishments by timely engagement
  • Support the root cause of any related FOG and Misuse hotspots and provide concise reporting, analysis and recommendations, setting out the options for consideration

Objective 3: To influence a fundamental change in culture and behaviours raising awareness of the impact on the environment of the discharge of fats oils and grease and food waste to the public sewer.

How we do it:

  • We educate and provide sustainable alternatives for food service establishments and local communities on disposal of fats oils and grease and prevent its discharge to the sewer network.
  • We lead and support the development of a long-term education strategy utilising experience within partner organisations.

Objective 4: ECAS commit to the continuous improvement of our quality systems and practices to ensure our clients requirements are satisfied.

How we do it:

  • Understanding and involvement and participation in client work streams, forums and communities of practise to share new ideas
  • Align internal targets and incentives that drive improvement and ensure clients targets are met
